Before starting his own practice he was partner and head of the arbitration team in a commercial law firm in Zurich for almost 20 years. For 15 years, he acted as external legal counsel to a global medical foundation and negotiated countless R&D agreements and trademark and patent licensing agreements. Until a few years ago, antitrust law was another area in which Urs Weber-Stecher regularly advised companies and represented them before the authorities. Before joining a law firm, Urs Weber-Stecher worked for several years at the Federal Office for Foreign Economic Affairs (now part of SECO) and was a member of Switzerland's diplomatic team for negotiations on a multilateral agreement on investment under the OECD and a member of the negotiating team for bilateral investment treaties.

 

In his mediation practice, Urs Weber-Stecher draws on his many years of experience in contract and settlement negotiations. The combination with specific mediation techniques allows him to assist the disputing parties with empathy and competence in their settlement process.
